Corey Godfrey is a Dallas based artist who has been creating and evolving her unique art over the last 15 years.  She began her art education in painting and drawing at the University of North Texas.  It was there that she began experimentation in “crafty” mediums until she uncovered her true love, yarn.  Corey’s work reflects the power and utilization of yarn, a material that is generally associated with women.  Over the years, she has refined her craft and continues to focus on revealing a certain vulnerability, angst and desire in her works.

In more recent pieces, Corey aims to reveal the correlation between female strength and the evolution of nature, as reflected in geodes, flora, fauna, and women, all of which endure immense environmental obstacles to reveal their true forms.  Her work is abundant in color and full of textures as the material is truly celebrated in every piece.
